1. IHS Teachers and Staff Appreciation, Gift Cards Campaign. Please contribute! or text ‘giftcard’ to (919) 626-3277 (ends 6/5).

There are just over 200 staff members who teach, support, guide and care for our kids each and every day. We want to honor each of our hardworking caregivers with a gift card to local downtown businesses to convey our sincere appreciation for all they do! We are asking you to please make your financial contribution by June 5th. Any amount is welcome and will be of great help! If your budget allows, please give generously.

Thank you in advance for your kind generosity. Want to volunteer? Please feel free to reach out with any questions to Judi Galgoczy at or Deawn Hersini at

2. Class of 2022 Casino Night, June 1st, 7:00-9:30pm, IHS cafeteria and Quad. Calling all Volunteers (not just senior families)!  We need help with set-up and clean-up for Casino Night! Set-up/decorate Tuesday, May 31 from 6-8pm and Wednesday, June 1 anytime between 2:30-6:30pm; clean-up from 9:15-10pm. SIGN UP HERE. You don’t have to have a senior to volunteer! It’s a great way to get a preview of the event for when your child is a senior. Financial donations are welcome to support the event – DONATE HERE

Casino Night is free to all seniors and has been an IHS tradition since the 1960s! Parent and IHS staff volunteers run tables of Blackjack, Texas Hold ‘Em, 5 Card Draw Poker, Roulette, Wheel of Fortune, and Craps. The seniors can exchange their Casino Night currency winnings for fabulous prizes donated by local businesses. They can also enjoy refreshments and hang out together. Parents/guardians coordinate every aspect of the event. The Class of 2022 has not had many opportunities to experience time-honored Ithaca High School traditions, so let’s help them finish their senior year with a fun social event! Questions? Contact Patricia Sipple at
